Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive streaming content strategy aligned with SaskTel’s business objectives and customer needs.
  • Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of streaming services, including content acquisition, platform integration, delivery optimization, and monetization strategies.
  • Lead a team of technical and content specialists, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Oversee the performance, reliability, and scalability of streaming platforms and content delivery networks (CDNs).
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify opportunities for service enhancement and innovation.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to develop promotional strategies and drive subscriber growth for streaming offerings.
  • Manage relationships with content providers, technology vendors, and other external partners.
  • Ensure compliance with content licensing agreements, digital rights management (DRM), and industry standards.
  • Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and regularly report on service performance, audience engagement, and financial metrics.
  • Drive continuous improvement through A/B testing, user research, and technological advancements.
  • Contribute to budget planning and resource allocation for streaming operations.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in streaming platform management, digital content delivery, or media technology.
  • Strong understanding of video streaming protocols (e.g., HLS, DASH), codecs, and DRM technologies.
  • Expertise in content management systems (CMS) and video-on-demand (VOD) platforms.
  • Proficiency in data analytics tools for audience insights and performance monitoring.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management abilities.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinking with a keen eye for market trends and innovation in the digital media space.
  • Familiarity with intellectual property and content licensing laws.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Media Studies, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience with cloud-based streaming solutions (e.g., AWS Media Services, Azure Media Services, Google Cloud Media).
  • Demonstrated success in launching or scaling streaming products/services.
  • Knowledge of the Canadian telecommunications and media landscape.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies.
