Job Description
Atlantic Records is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented A&R Coordinator to join our dynamic A&R team in New York, New York. This is an exciting opportunity for an aspiring music professional to contribute directly to the artist discovery and development process at one of the industry’s leading labels. The A&R Coordinator will provide essential administrative and creative support to multiple A&R executives, playing a crucial role in managing project workflows, tracking artist submissions, and facilitating recording sessions and releases. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and organize a high volume of music submissions, demos, and artist materials.
- Maintain detailed A&R databases, tracking artist contacts, project statuses, and recording information.
- Coordinate recording studio bookings, session schedules, and travel arrangements for artists and A&R executives.
- Process invoices, expense reports, and other administrative tasks for the A&R department.
- Assist A&R executives with preparing for meetings, presentations, and creative reviews.
- Research emerging artists, producers, songwriters, and industry trends.
- Facilitate communication between artists, management, producers, and internal departments (e.g., Marketing, Legal, Business Affairs).
- Attend live showcases, concerts, and industry events to scout talent and network.
- Help prepare and distribute creative assets for internal review and external partners.
- Handle confidential information with the utmost discretion and professionalism.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Music Business, Entertainment Management, Communications, or a related field.
- 1+ years of experience in the music industry, preferably in an A&R, management, or label-related role.
- Demonstrated passion for music across diverse genres and a strong knowledge of current music trends.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and digital audio platforms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Discreet and professional handling of sensitive and confidential information.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior internship experience in an A&R department at a major or independent record label.
- Basic understanding of music production software (e.g., Logic Pro, Ableton, Pro Tools).
- Experience with music streaming platforms and analytics.
- Existing network within the music community (artists, producers, managers).
- A proactive attitude and willingness to take initiative.
