Carefor Health & Community Services is looking for enthusiastic Home Health Aides (often referred to as Personal Support Workers in Ontario) to join our dynamic team in Ottawa. As a Home Health Aide, you will be the cornerstone of our clients’ independence, assisting them with daily living activities, promoting their well-being, and ensuring they live comfortably and safely within their own communities. This role requires travel to various client homes within the Ottawa region, making a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personal care including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting assistance.
- Assist clients with mobility, transfers, and ambulation using appropriate techniques and equipment.
- Support clients with light housekeeping, meal preparation, and feeding as needed.
- Administer medication reminders and assist with simple assigned medical procedures, under supervision.
- Engage clients in social activities, conversations, and light exercise to promote mental and physical well-being.
- Monitor and report changes in client's physical, emotional, or mental condition to the care coordinator.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for clients.
- Document care provided accurately and in a timely manner according to Carefor's policies.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and infection control protocols.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with clients, families, and other healthcare team members.

- Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Personal Support Worker (PSW) certificate or equivalent from a recognized institution.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or First Aid and CPR certification.
- Previous experience (6+ months) working as a Home Health Aide, PSW, or in a similar caregiving role.
- Proficiency in both English and French is an asset.
