Key Responsibilities
- Assist skilled tradespeople (e.g., carpenters, masons, electricians) with various tasks as needed.
- Load, unload, and distribute construction materials, tools, and equipment safely across the site.
- Prepare construction sites by cleaning and clearing debris, removing hazards, and ensuring a tidy workspace.
- Operate basic hand and power tools under supervision, following strict safety guidelines.
- Dig trenches, backfill excavations, and level earth using picks, shovels, and other manual tools.
- Erect and dismantle temporary structures, scaffolding, and barricades as instructed.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Perform general maintenance and cleaning of tools and equipment.
- Assist with the pouring and spreading of concrete, asphalt, and other materials.
- Support site management with logistical tasks and ensure smooth project flow.
- Maintain a high level of punctuality and attendance.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform strenuous physical work, including lifting heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong work ethic and a positive, 'can-do' attitude.
- Willingness to learn and take direction from supervisors and experienced tradespeople.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong sense of responsibility.
- Basic understanding of safety protocols and a commitment to adhering to them.
