Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Surgeon to join our thriving practice in Cardiff, Wales. Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality veterinary care, including diagnostics, medical treatments, and surgical procedures (routine and emergency).
- Conduct thorough consultations and build strong relationships with pet owners, offering clear communication and empathetic advice.
- Manage a varied caseload independently, demonstrating excellent clinical decision-making skills.
- Work collaboratively with veterinary nurses and support staff to ensure optimal patient care and smooth clinic operations.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
- Participate in an equitable share of weekend and out-of-hours rota (if applicable, details provided during interview).
- Commit to ongoing professional development and engage in continuous learning to stay abreast of veterinary advancements.
- Contribute to the positive and supportive team environment.
- Adhere strictly to professional and ethical guidelines, ensuring the highest standards of animal welfare.
Required Skills
- MRCVS registered or eligible for immediate registration.
- Minimum of 2 years post-graduate experience as a Veterinary Surgeon.
- Proven surgical and medical skills with the ability to manage a varied caseload.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate approach.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
- A genuine passion for animal welfare and client satisfaction.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with advanced diagnostic imaging techniques.
- Specific interests or qualifications (e.g., CertAVP modules) in areas such as surgery, internal medicine, or dentistry.
- Experience mentoring junior colleagues or student veterinary nurses.
- Fluency in Welsh is a plus, but not essential.
