Job Description
We are seeking an exceptionally talented and highly motivated Data Scientist to join our dynamic team in Laramie, Wyoming. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement robust data models and algorithms to analyze environmental, engineering, and operational data.
- Extract, clean, and pre-process large, complex datasets from various sources, ensuring data quality and integrity.
- Perform statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and machine learning to identify trends, forecast outcomes, and generate actionable insights.
- Develop and deploy interactive data visualizations and dashboards to effectively communicate analytical findings to diverse audiences.
- Collaborate with project teams to understand business challenges and translate them into data science problems.
- Research and experiment with new data science methodologies, tools, and technologies to enhance analytical capabilities.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior analysts and team members.
- Document methodologies, assumptions, and results clearly and concisely for internal and external stakeholders.
- Support the integration of data science solutions into existing operational workflows and systems.
- Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and best practices in data science within the company.
Required Skills
- Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in a data scientist or a similar analytical role.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python (with libraries like Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn) and R.
- Strong understanding of statistical modeling, machine learning algorithms (e.g., regression, classification, clustering, time series analysis), and experimental design.
- Experience with SQL and relational databases; ability to extract and manipulate large datasets.
- Demonstrated experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Matplotlib, Seaborn).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, capable of explaining complex analytical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop).
- Familiarity with environmental science, engineering, or consulting domain knowledge.
- Experience with GIS tools and spatial data analysis.
- Knowledge of deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Proven track record of developing and deploying production-ready machine learning models.
- Project management experience or experience leading analytical initiatives.
