As a Construction Worker with Suffolk, you will be immersed in the foundational aspects of site operations. You’ll contribute directly to the successful execution of our projects, learning best practices in safety, tool handling, material management, and general site support. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist skilled tradespeople (carpenters, electricians, plumbers, etc.) with various tasks as directed.
  • Perform general site cleanup and maintenance, ensuring a safe and organized work environment.
  • Load, unload, and distribute construction materials and equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Operate basic hand and power tools under supervision, adhering to all safety protocols.
  • Dig trenches, shovel earth, and clear debris as needed for site preparation.
  • Set up and dismantle temporary structures, scaffolding, and safety barriers.
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, as well as OSHA regulations.
  • Participate in daily safety briefings and contribute to a proactive safety culture.
  • Support project teams in various capacities to meet project deadlines and objectives.
  • Learn and adapt to new tasks and techniques quickly and efficiently, demonstrating a willingness to grow.
  • Maintain a clean and professional appearance on job sites.

Required Skills

  • Strong work ethic and a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Ability to follow instructions meticulously and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to perform strenuous tasks, lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), and work in various weather conditions.
  • Reliable transportation to job sites in the Boston metropolitan area.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment for yourself and your colleagues.
  • Basic understanding of English for safety instructions and communication.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • OSHA 10-hour construction safety certification (can be obtained on the job with company support).
  • Previous experience working in a physically demanding role (e.g., landscaping, warehouse, manual labor).
  • Valid driver's license.
