Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Financial Controller to join our finance team in Massy, France. This crucial role will be instrumental in overseeing the financial health and operational efficiency of key business units within Carrefour France. The Financial Controller will be responsible for managing financial planning, analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with both internal policies and external regulations. You will provide critical financial insights to management, supporting strategic decision-making and driving performance improvement. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the annual budgeting process, collaborating with various departments to develop realistic and ambitious financial plans.
- Perform in-depth financial analysis, identifying trends, variances, and key drivers of financial performance.
- Prepare comprehensive financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements, for internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain robust financial models for forecasting revenues, expenses, and cash flows.
- Ensure strict adherence to accounting principles (IFRS/French GAAP), company policies, and statutory regulations.
- Monitor and manage internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure data integrity.
- Provide strategic financial guidance and recommendations to operational teams and senior management.
- Drive cost optimization initiatives and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements across various business functions.
- Participate in cross-functional projects, offering financial expertise and support.
- Oversee the reconciliation of accounts and ensure accurate financial data for auditing purposes.
Required Skills
- Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in financial controlling, audit, or a similar finance role.
- Proven expertise in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and French GAAP.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling techniques.
- Experience with major ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and concisely to non-financial stakeholders.
- Fluent in both English and French (written and spoken).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within the retail or FMCG sector.
- Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, DESCF, or equivalent.
- Familiarity with business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Demonstrated leadership potential and experience mentoring junior team members.
