Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare and analyze complex journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
- Conduct thorough variance analysis and provide insightful explanations for financial performance.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, internal policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in the development and implementation of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Support the preparation of consolidated financial statements and contribute to regulatory reporting.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains within the accounting function.
- Mentor junior team members and provide guidance on complex accounting issues.
- Assist with special projects and ad-hoc analysis as required by management.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a large organization.
- Strong knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Proficiency in advanced Excel functions (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling).
- Experience with major ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Unit4 Business World).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or equivalent professional accounting designation.
- Experience in the financial services industry.
- Familiarity with Norwegian accounting standards (NGAAP).
- Experience with consolidation processes for a complex group structure.
