We are urgently seeking a dedicated and skilled Radiologic Technologist (known as a Medical Imaging Technologist or Diagnostic Radiographer in Australia) to join our dynamic team in Sydney. Key Responsibilities
- Perform a wide range of general radiography procedures, adhering to established protocols and safety guidelines.
- Operate and maintain advanced X-ray equipment, ensuring optimal image quality and patient comfort.
- Position patients accurately and safely for imaging, providing clear instructions and reassurance.
- Review images for technical quality and diagnostic accuracy before presentation to radiologists.
- Maintain accurate patient records, including examination details and dose information.
- Collaborate effectively with radiologists, fellow technologists, nurses, and administrative staff.
- Ensure strict adherence to radiation safety protocols for both patients and staff.
- Participate in quality assurance programs and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide exceptional patient care, addressing concerns and ensuring a positive experience.
Required Skills
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Medical Imaging Technologist/Diagnostic Radiographer.
- Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Radiations) or equivalent qualification.
- Proven experience as a Radiologic Technologist in a clinical setting.
- Excellent technical proficiency in operating X-ray equipment and image acquisition.
- Strong understanding of radiation physics, protection, and safety protocols.
- Exceptional patient care skills and a compassionate approach.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Meticulous attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with other imaging modalities (e.g., CT, MRI, Ultrasound) is highly regarded.
- Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant field.
- Familiarity with RIS/PACS systems and digital imaging workflows.
- Advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) certification.
- Prior experience in a high-volume diagnostic imaging centre.
