Job Description

We are urgently seeking a dedicated and skilled Radiologic Technologist (known as a Medical Imaging Technologist or Diagnostic Radiographer in Australia) to join our dynamic team in Sydney. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform a wide range of general radiography procedures, adhering to established protocols and safety guidelines.
  • Operate and maintain advanced X-ray equipment, ensuring optimal image quality and patient comfort.
  • Position patients accurately and safely for imaging, providing clear instructions and reassurance.
  • Review images for technical quality and diagnostic accuracy before presentation to radiologists.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, including examination details and dose information.
  • Collaborate effectively with radiologists, fellow technologists, nurses, and administrative staff.
  • Ensure strict adherence to radiation safety protocols for both patients and staff.
  • Participate in quality assurance programs and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide exceptional patient care, addressing concerns and ensuring a positive experience.

Required Skills

  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Medical Imaging Technologist/Diagnostic Radiographer.
  • Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Radiations) or equivalent qualification.
  • Proven experience as a Radiologic Technologist in a clinical setting.
  • Excellent technical proficiency in operating X-ray equipment and image acquisition.
  • Strong understanding of radiation physics, protection, and safety protocols.
  • Exceptional patient care skills and a compassionate approach.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with other imaging modalities (e.g., CT, MRI, Ultrasound) is highly regarded.
  • Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant field.
  • Familiarity with RIS/PACS systems and digital imaging workflows.
  • Advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) certification.
  • Prior experience in a high-volume diagnostic imaging centre.
