Job Description

We are actively seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our dynamic finance team in Dublin. Key Responsibilities

  • Execute the end-to-end payroll processing for all EY Ireland employees on a bi-weekly and monthly basis, ensuring paramount accuracy and timeliness.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all relevant Irish tax legislation, PRSI, USC, and other statutory deductions and reporting requirements.
  • Manage and resolve complex payroll-related queries from employees with professionalism and clear communication, providing comprehensive support.
  • Prepare and accurately submit all statutory payroll reports, including P45s, P60s, P30s, and annual returns to revenue.
  • Perform meticulous reconciliation of payroll data to general ledger accounts and prepare precise payroll journal entries for financial reporting.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with the HR department to ensure the integrity and accuracy of employee data, including new hires, terminations, and compensation changes.
  • Administer comprehensive employee benefits such as pension contributions, health insurance, and other voluntary and involuntary deductions.
  • Actively participate in internal and external payroll audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Proactively identify and implement continuous process improvements to enhance payroll efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Maintain an up-to-date and expert knowledge of all Irish payroll legislation, best practices, and industry changes.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in an end-to-end payroll processing role within an Irish context.
  • Profound knowledge of Irish payroll legislation, including tax, PRSI, and USC regulations.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in mainstream payroll software systems (e.g., CoreHR, SAP, Workday, Sage).
  • Exceptional numerical acumen and an unyielding attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and advanced problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within a diverse team environment.
  • Superior organizational and time management skills, capable of managing multiple priorities under deadlines.
  • Absolute discretion and the unwavering ability to handle highly confidential information.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., VLOOKUPs, pivot tables).

Preferred Qualifications

  • A recognized IPASS qualification (Irish Payroll Association) or equivalent certification.
  • Experience with global payroll systems or within a large multinational corporate environment.
  • Previous professional experience gained within a professional services firm.
  • Involvement in payroll system implementations or significant upgrades.
  • Experience with expatriate payroll calculations and tax implications.
